Arrival Bjerkely

Via E6 from the south or north, follow county road 216 from Moelv or Lillehammer, and drive the road from Mesnali up towards Sjusjøen. Drive through the center of Sjusjøen and further up, until you reach the toll station at Storåsen. Here there is automatic registration and payment of tolls for driving into the mountains.

Continue along Birkebeinervegen to Kroksjøen, approximately three kilometers from Storåsen. Take the first road (Ludviks veg) on ​​the right after the bridge by the dam. Continue to cabin 75 at the first junction.

In summer, it is also possible to drive the Birkebeinervegen over the mountain from Messelt in Østerdalen.

If you use a digital map or navigation system, enter "Kuåsen 75, 2612 Sjusjøen" in the system.

When you get to the cabin

Parking at Bjerkely

Summer and winter there is parking for up to two cars at the cottage. The car park is marked "Kuåsen 75".

There is no extra charge to park your car here. From the parking lot there is only a short path to the cabin.

Train and bus

The nearest railway station is Lillehammer Skyssstasjon. There are trains from Oslo and Trondheim. Bus number 501 runs from Lillehammer to Sjusjøen and Storåsen. From Storåsen it is three kilometers to walk along Birkebeinervegen to the cabin.
