In good time before departure, prepare the cabin for the next guests at Bjerkely, just as the previous guest did before you arrived.
Cleaning: Vacuum floors in all rooms, including the outhouse. Vacuum cleaners are in cupboards in the hallway. Take all rubbish from the cabin and put it in waste containers at Storåsen or the Kiwi shop at Sjusjøen.
Cleaning: Clean all crockery, kitchen equipment and table surfaces. Washing equipment can be found in the kitchen counter and between the counters. Empty all water containers.
Refrigerator: It is important that all food is removed from the cabin before departure. This applies to both refrigerators and food cellars. The door to the fridge and freezer must be left open to avoid the formation of mould.

Close gas
Before departure, you must shut off the gas supply. On the wall next to the fridge there are two gas taps. One for gas cooker (red) and one for gas fridge (blue).
Both are closed by turning the taps in a horizontal position. Gas is still open if the twister is in a vertical position.
The gas must also be disconnected from the gas tank. It is placed in a separate cupboard under the kitchen window outside.
Use the key from the key cabinet in the hallway marked "gas cabinet". Open the gas cabinet and disconnect the gas tank and regulator/gas hose. Lock and hang the key in the key cabinet.
Empty ashes
Cold ashes have to be removed from the fireplace and wood stove before departure. Firing can therefore end the night before the day of departure.
Use fireplace tools under the fireplace to remove ash from the wood stove and fireplace. Place ashes in the metal bucket by the fireplace. It can be warm underneath, and must only be placed on the stone slab on which the fireplace stands.
Empty cold ashes near the fir which can be seen to the left out of the large living room window.
When the wood-burning stove and fireplace have been emptied of ash, you can put some firewood in both places.

Turn off the lights etc.
When all the tasks before departure are done, just switch off all the lights in the cabin and the outhouse. This is a good environmental measure that pays off.
Pulls for curtains in all rooms. Pour white lime into the toilet in the outhouse.
Close all doors and windows. Remember to lock two locks on the main door, as well as the door to the outhouse.
Put the keys in the key boxes, turn the numbers and close the hatch. Then it's just a matter of wishing well home.
